Landhaus Meyenburg in Schwanewede

Not hospitable and below average food at above average prices. That is the conclusion about the collection of our Christmas dinner on Boxing Day! When we entered the restaurant punctually at the agreed time, the greeting (with a raised index finger) was: “Wait outside.” So no “Merry Christmas. Would you PLEASE wait outside for a moment. " We then had to wait outside for about 10 minutes because three guests had picked up their Christmas dinner before us. Planning of pick-up times to avoid contacts - no result. In addition, a regular guest, who had previously tried to push past us and other waiting guests, was brought in personally by the boss and provided with his meal. When we ordered we noticed that one of the five ordered meals had been forgotten. 35 minutes after arriving we were finally back in the car. The four goose meals were just plain bad. The meat part would not have been visually recognizable even as a goose. Goosebumps couldn't be seen at all and the outer coat of the meat part was very hard and very tough. We scraped the meat stand underneath from this tough “coating”. The Brussels sprouts were so soft that you could mash them under the roof of your mouth with your tongue. And that for 30 euros !? The soup was okay. For € 5.50 a small portion, but okay. The small mixed salad for 6 euros was a joke! We experienced the extreme opposite in terms of service and quality of the food on Boxing Day with the “Restaurant zum Hemberg” in Worpswede. Here we could experience how professionals work! The Meyenburger Landhaus cannot be awarded less than one star. I dedicate this one star to the ambience of an old country house. In the categories of hospitality, food quality and price, my rating is "unsatisfactory!"

We have been to the Meyenburger Landhaus many times and have been extremely satisfied every time, without exception: The dishes are excellent - my tip: You should definitely try the vegan Knipp, you will be delighted! - and the staff are very courteous and friendly. In addition, reasonable prices and beautiful rooms!

We are actually there every now and then, and today for the first time after Corona Start. The food and service were great. However, we were disappointed how few guests there were although the hygiene was guaranteed. So people who are happy and waiting for you. Greetings Ralf Stukenburg

All in all, I was happy. Mother-in-law found the schnitzel from the deep fryer a little too greasy. The kale at the sister-in-law probably had a little too much salt The brother-in-law unfortunately forgot to eat the salad. My girlfriend said that schnitzel had no taste and there was no salt on the fries. A nice atmosphere in the middle of the country (great furnishings)

Great country house with a SUPER chef who stands with heart and soul in the kitchen. If the waitress is only half as good as the cook, everything will be fine. Don't understand how to operate a man with chewing gum in his mouth.

A very welcoming country inn with an appealing menu, cozy atmosphere and a very friendly, attentive service. The food was really good, on Thursdays there are Indian specialties, authentic and very good. The country house is a secret and highly recommended

A bit off the beaten track country inn with a cozy atmosphere. The service staff immediately ensure a relaxed, relaxed atmosphere. The evening was fun. The menu is an initially weird mixture of classic German food and Indian dishes. Both are well prepared, delicious and honest. The only thing that bothers me personally is the parsley on the plate, but that's not worth a point deduction.

Very nice place! Tasty and skillfully prepared dishes. We had a traditional herring dish, a vegetable pasta, a chicken pasta oven dish and a Wiener schnitzel. All were delicious. Everything tasted really fresh. Location also very nice: a beautiful little historic village. Note: excellent white wine (Grauer Burgunder).
